Michael Bellstedt, Managing Director, holds a Ph.D in thermal engineering from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and has worked in the refrigeration industry in various positions in Europe and Australia for over 18 years. The earliest CO2 refrigeration systems in Australia were built to the design and specification of Minus40, the engineering consultancy of which Michael is Director and Principal. Michael is well known as an advocate of natural refrigerants in Australia (as founder and former president of the Natural Refrigerants Transition Board/Green Cooling Council) and overseas, has a long list of publications and regularly conducts public speaking on a range of topics relating to refrigeration.
Sergio Girotto holds a mechanical engineering degree from Padua University in Italy (1980). He has over 24 years of industry experience in commercial refrigeration work, and commenced with the development of CO2 systems for commercial applications in 1999 whilst working for Costan, a large European commercial refrigeration contracting firm. He founded Enex S.R.L in 2004 and has designed and commissioned numerous cutting-edge technology CO2 refrigeration systems throughout Europe in recent years. Sergio is a frequent speaker at international conferences and has written numerous peer-reviewed papers for international technical journals on CO2 refrigeration. Enex supplied the CO2 refrigeration units to the award-winning Drakes supermarket in Angle Vale (South Australia) in 2007. Sergio serves as key technical advisor to eCO2 Technologies and checks and approves design work conducted by eCO2 engineers.
Mihkel (Mike) Ilp, Project and Service Engineer, obtained his diploma of higher education, Profession — Refrigeration Engineer at the Estonian Maritime Academy and subsequently had more than 5 years of practical design, installation and service experience with a range of employers in Europe before moving to Australia in 2007. He played a major role in the commissioning of Australia’s first transcritical CO2 refrigeration system at Angle Vale, South Australia.
Andrey Andrusenko, Thermodynamic Modelling and Design Engineer, holds a Ph.D in thermal engineering from Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration in Ukraine, where he worked for several years at the ammonia port plant. He moved to Australia in 2008 and joined Minus40 as a design engineer, and has been seconded to eCO2 since August 2008. Andrey is the author of several peer-reviewed publications and has conducted presentations at international conferences.
Andrey (Andy) Kostyuk, Electrical and Controls Engineer, holds a Masters degree in Automation of Technological Processes and Industries from Sevastopol National Technical University in Ukraine and his qualifications have been recognized by the Institute of Engineers Australia. He has 5 years of practical experience in the design and commissioning of electrical and control systems gained prior to relocating to Australia in September 2008.
